Our Specialty Vermiculite brand is mined and processed in Enoree, South Carolina. We mine the vermiculite concentrate using an open pit mining technique where the ore is separated from other minerals and categorized into various particle sizes.

Vermiculite is an ideal mineral that’s beneficial in many applications and products. It’s a hydrated magnesium aluminum sheet silicate mineral closely related to mica. When subjected to heat, vermiculite expands. The expanded particles are lightweight, and have thermal-resistant properties that make it ideal in these markets:

Benefits of Vermiculite
Our vermiculite is produced in a variety of particle sizes and makes an excellent product in many applications. Vermiculite dispersions are used in high temperature coatings or binders for construction materials, gaskets, weld curtains, specialty papers/textiles, oxidation resistant coatings on carbon composites, and as barrier coatings for films. MicroLite
